Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a large lump inside my tongue on the right area. i have been sick and was on antibiotics but when you put your 2 fingers and rub on both sides of the tongue it fells like half a golf ball and is really painful. Could it be infected still from me being sick it's been over 3 weeks
A painful lump inside the tongue that is very painful can be due to an abscess formation due to infection or can be due to inflamed tongue papillae. Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray and FNAC can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you should do cool compresses over the lump and taking anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen or Naproxen for pain relief.. Take a soft diet..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
