Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain And Numbness In The Feet And Ankles
I have lower back pain that spreads to my whole back. My legs hurt, burn, and ache. I have numbness and pain in feet and ankles. Plus my arms and hands have numbness and like electro shock goes through. I have trouble sleeping because of pain or I wake up with numbness in my arms. It s been going on for months and nothing helps. I m scared and I can t take much more, should I be worried?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pain in lower back can be due to musculoskeletal problem. Pain in legs associated with burning & numbness of feet and ankles suggest involvement of nerves of lower limb. Numbness of upper limb also suggests involvement of upper limb also. I suggest you to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment. A X-ray and MRI of lower back may be required to look for condition of vertebra of lower back and the nerves emanating from the spinal cord. Management can be planned after clinical assessment and diagnosis.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
