Hello Doctor, I have a 13 year old son. He is never hungry for food. Please advice. Thanks. Rochelle
Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your query.
Since your son is not gaining weight, you are suggested to visit a a GP & get him a general health check up done. Get blood tests, Urinalysis & stool examination done to rule out worms or any other pathology.
Your treating doctor may do deworming. Your son may need some enzymes(Syp. Aristozyme) or liver tonic to boost his appetite.
Avoid giving him packaged food. Give him dry fruits, fresh fruits, protein rich food. Home made food that is substantial should be given.
Keep him well hydrated & see that he gets adequate sleep. Hope i have answered your query. Take care. Regards, Dr Nupur K
