Suggest Treatment For Lip Allergy
Hi, Recently I have noticed my lips are turning black. I was reading up and it said to cut out caffeine. I only drink one cup a day. I also only have allergies to dust/dust mites/cats/dogs when I got tested. I recently had a lip allergy reaction and my lips were very itchy to salt when it it my lips...and when I had some wine which I never had an issue with. The itching went away after i got benedryl in my system for a few days but my lips are getting darker on the edges. I don t wear much make up anymore and careful what I use. I ve been trying to get close to a gallon of water in my system as well. I have eczema so I even used my steroid ointment on my lips thinking that would help the dryness it was having etc. So this is a lot because I don t have any food allergies that I know of. I read petroleum is not good for lips so I ve been using EOS balm. Any suggestions?

These features are indicative of either nutritional deficiency or actinic cheilitis. The burning sensation to salt indicates cheilitis. You can start multivitamin tablets. Use a lip balm with a sunscreen and a mild steroid like hydrocortisone. If there is no improvement in lesions, you can go for a complete blood count and s. Vit B 12 levels.
