Sir/Madam, I ve been diagnosed as having mild lvh. My ldl/vdl ration is just a point below normal, that is, 4.8 against the normal level of 5.10. I m using ismo 20mg and losar h in the morning, atrva 20 mg in the afternoon and stamla beta along with ismo 20 mg before going to sleep. I ve been doing this for a fortnight now. My othe blood and urine reports are quite normal. I m walking a bit (3 km in the morning and evening). My diet has highly restrict or nil salt levels. I m drinking a glass of buttermilk made of milk containing 1.5 fat level. I feel ok with this regimen but when BP is fluctuating between 140 & 160 sometime in the evening i get abit scared. When I take Stamla beta I feell ok in half an or so. Ido a clerical job on an eight hour shift. It ll be a great help if a cardiologist can be kind enough to reply. I want o be anynymous.

Dear Dr. Langsjoen: A friend is a past heart attach victim, and has congestive heart failure and high blood pressure. He also needs to lose a lot of weight. His cardiologist has him on maximum strength blood pressure medicine as well as a statin, and he is miserable. He is now taking CoQ10 at my suggestion. I have recommended he stop taking the statin and find another way to lower any imflammation (his doctor has never tested his CRP levels). Are there effective ways to reduce blood pressure in a situation like this without the blood pressure drugs? Are there any other therapies which can improve his status?
