Suggest Treatment For Left Sided Pain In The Abdomen

Hi, Last week I had a really bad stabbing pain up my left side and in my lower abdomen. Since then I have had a pain in the left side of my lower abdomen. When I had sex it was excruciating on the left side as well. It is a mild pain and when I touch down it is yore sore. I have had really tender breasts and also feel really bloated and have been putting on weight quite quickly. Do you have any idea what is wrong?

Hi,

Diverticulitis is one of the most common causes. In many cases, persistent pain specific to the lower left side of the abdomen is caused by diverticulitis. When a pouch tears, swelling and infection can cause diverticulitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Monish De, Oncologist
