Suggest Treatment For Kidney Infection And Cramps

I am being treated for a kidney infection with Cipro but today is my second day on the medication and now I feel more bladder cramping , kidney pain and my hip and upper thigh and right leg is hurting even more what could be causing this? I also am very nauseous and very weak .

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
From your description, it appears that you are not only having just kidney infection, probably may be you have kidney stones as well.
For kidney infection, what drug has been administered is right and you need to continue with it.
It is better you get an ultrasound abdomen done to know the status of kidney stones. If it is present, you need to plan treatment of it by consulting an Urologist.
In the meantime, you can take analgesics Ibuprofen + Paracetamol combination twice daily after food till your pain gets better.
In case it is bothering much, you can add an anti-spasmodic drug like oxybutynin.
Drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself well hydrated.
