Suggest Treatment For Jaw Pain And Swelling On The Head Post Injury

I got hit in the head (temple) with a bottle rocket fire work that caused me to bleed. It s been swollen for 24 hours now even after ice packs. I have jaw pain, sensitivity in the area, it burns, pain when moving eye to left, and being light headed. I did not lose consciousness but I m a little worried should I see a doctor?

Hi there,
I am Dr. Deepak, I work in Emergency Department, where I see many of my patients with head injury. You have mentioned that you sustained injury with a bottle rocket fire work that caused bleeding. You have jaw pain, sensitivity in the area, and pain when you move your eye towards left. You also feel light headed.
I feel you had minor head injury, because you did't loose consciousness, you didn't had vomiting, and you are very much okay now. I hope the bleeding has stopped. You can take some pain killers for the pain for the time being.
As you had injury to temple region (please mention the side). and you also mentioned you are feeling light headed. I would recommend you to get your self checked up in the ER for that, as injury to temple region can lead to injury to ear canal which can make you light headed.
Coming to jaw pain, if you are able to bite and chew your food with minimal pain, then there is no need to worry about any thing. If not then it will be better if you could visit close by ER and get examined.
In the net shell, your information you have provided, there doesn't like major injury to brain, but there is possibility of serious injury to ear and jaw bone, for which I would recommend you to get yourself examined by a doctor.
thank you
Hope your concern was dealt with and hope you have a speedy recovery.
