Suggest Treatment For Itchy Scrotum

Hi Doctor, I have a severe skin itching problem on my scrotum wall, for years. I looked up in the internet and found to called as scrotal dermatitis, it is very very itchy, sweaty and scales on the whole part. I have seen couple of skin doctors and guess they were unable to identify the problem. It is so itchy and problematic that unknowingly I scratch even when I am sleeping. Please help.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Intense itching on the scrotum for years is suggestive of dermatitis.
Fungal infection also cause intense itching however, a long history and presence of scales on the skin favor a primary skin lesion.
In addition, dermatitis causes red rash which may be weeping.
Dermatitis is an easy and obvious diagnosis by an experienced dermatologist.
Thus, I suggest you to consult an experienced dermatologist for clinical assessment and thus diagnosis.
Treatment consists of application of moisturizing lotion and low potency steroids.

Thanks and take care
