Suggest treatment for itchy scalp

I have a couple of issues concerning my scalp. 1. On the right side of my head, just above my ear, I have a small area, about the size of the end of a q-tip. It will sometimes itch. Then I will drain. Then it will scab up. Sometimes the area will almost heel. If so, it will not be for long. 2. I have recently found tiny, round bumps on my scalp. I can scratch them off. But don t know if this is such a good idea. 3. On occasion I develop small burning like areas on my neck and (hairline). These areas itch then burn. They often get infected, before going away. I ve tried creams and ointments but they just take away the burn. Just a temporary relief.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello, the problems in 1 and 2 appears scalp folliculitis..I would adv you to take a course of oral antibiotics with cap Cephalexin 500mg four times a day for 7 days, along with cetrilak shampoo to be used as scalp wash (apply on wet scalp for 10 min, then rinse with plain water) and don't scratch the lesions
For problem 3, it appears as sycosis barbae, i would adv you to visit a dermatologist for evaluation of the same.
Thanks
Take care
