Suggest Treatment For Itchy Bumps Around The Vagina
i went to the doctors yesterday as i have sore and itchy bumps around my vagina hole, they told me its a big chance thats its herpes and they referred me to a clinic. when i got to the clinic it was family planning only and i was told i would have to wait till monday to be seen. currently im in a lot of unbearable pain and itchyness. i went to the pharmacist where they gave me Canesten Oral and Cream, however it says on the leaflet not to use it for herpes. what can you advise?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Sore itchy bumps on in the genital region could be due to herpes simplex infection. Herpes simplex infection causes fluid filled vesicles which are itchy. They can turn painful and can even ulcerate. Canesten is an anti-fungal preparation. Fungal infection manifests with white curdy discharge which causes intense itching. Soreness and pain can occur due to repeated itching. However, the cause of symptoms need to be ruled out before taking any treatment. Use of anti-fungal can be harmful if the lesion turns out to be due to herpes simplex infection. A clinical assessment by your gynecologist is necessary for further management.
