Suggest Treatment For Itching And Swelling In The Lower Lip

I have a swollen lower lip with a burning sensation and a swollen chin on the left that is very itchy. I am wondering if it is an allergic reaction to something. I take an Allegra every morning for seasonal allergies, can I take some Benadryl as well?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching and swelling in lower lip which could be due to angioedema and severe allergic reaction to allergen. It could be due to dehydration and stress as well.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take combination of levocetirizine along with Ibuprofen if it is painful. You should drink plenty of water. Avoid exposure to sunlight. Apply petroleum jelly on it. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined. Start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should give cold compresses to lips 2-3 times a day and take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. Take folic acid with vitamin b complex supplement.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
