I am 69 yeers old man on dialysis. Right after I started Dialysis I started itching and breaking out in round dark sores on my legs and also on my finger. My doctor thought it might be some type of calciun. However they are better but the itching is unbearable. When I am at dialysis I can hardley stand it. I can t scratch because I have to sit still. I ve tried many itch Meds but nothing seems to work.

Itching may be due to many reasons
Patients with chronic renal failure may develop itching due to high creatinine and urea levels.Secondly dry skin in renal failure predisposes to itching. So you need to apply emolients regularly. Also non sedative antihistamines like desloratadine will help.Regards.
