Suggest Treatment For Itchiness Between The Vagina And Anus
Hi..my 9 year old daughter has been suffering with itchiness between the vagina and anus. At times the itchiness stops and she has unbearable pain in her anus. I took her to a doc and she saw the skin in that area is turning white and thickening. She suggested we see a gynae. We are awaiting the appointment. In the interim she prescribed flucanozole antibiotic medicine and daktacort ointment. My daughter still cries with pain. Can you advise me.
What you are describing seems like a fungal infection. The treatment the local has given seems the right one. It needs at least one week to be visible improvement. The treatment should last at least one week after complete clearance. Make sure to apply the ointment at least 2 mm above the area that is affected into the normal area.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Klarida Papaqako, General & Family Physician
