Suggest Treatment For Irritation And Burning Sensation In The Vagina

Hello I have a problem with my vagina. It s very irritating and it burns. I checked in the mirror and I don t see any blisters or scabs of any sort it looks perfectly fine but it feels terrible. Before this started I had shaved a couple days before and also used nair on my vagina to get rid of the hairs. I also had oral sex with my boyfriend. I have a feeling it might be yeast infection but I m not sure cause it also could be a sexually transmitted disease. What is the cause of this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to vaginal dryness.

For that you can apply v wash locally.

Alternatively you can apply aloe Vera gel or coconut oil locally.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Avoid sexual act till recovery.

In case of vaginal discharge you may require blood investigation after detailed medical examination by gynecologist to rule out any sexually transmitted infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
