Suggest Treatment For Irregular Spotting, Hot Flashes Along With Night Sweats

I am 43yrs. Old and for the last year have noticed that my menstrual cycle is getting closer together. When I think I should be ovulating I will spot for a couple of days, have heavy flow for a day then spot again. Then my next cycle will start 21-25 days later. My cycle is always irregular now. I am having other changes that are possibly signs of menopause. These changes have been slowly coming about for the last 5 yrs. Night sweats, hot flashes during the day, dryness all the time and painful sex, hair texture has changed also. Is this change in my cycle to be expected or should it be something to be concerned about?

Hello,

All the changes your experiencing indicate towards hormonal changes that happen during menopause. So there is nothing to worry about as long as you can manage them and they are not too disturbing or debilitating.

However, if you experience heavy bleeding that does not stop for days making you feeling tired all the time or any other associated symptoms get worse to the point that they make you agonized, you should visit a gynecologist for hormone supplement therapy.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish this phase goes easy for you!

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
