Suggest Treatment For Inter-menstrual Bleeding After Child Birth

Hi there.
My questions is as follows. 11 months ago I gave birth to my baby boy. I had a c-section and of course I had the continuous bleeding for about a month. After that my period started off normal. When my baby was about six months I started getting my period twice a month. Sometimes for 3 weeks straight. Sometimes heavy blood and sometimes lighter. My baby is almost one now and I am still getting my period twice a month. The first time heavy flow bright red as normal, and the second time it's starts off red then turns brown. What should I do? Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
This type of menstruation is known as irregular menstruation .
Irregular menstruation , dysfunctional uterine bleeding , amenorrhea ( no bleeding ) , scanty menstruation are the characteristic features of cysts . Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of both ovaries.
2nd reason of such menstruation may be due to lactation.
3rd possibilities may be fibroid in uterus , again ultrasound will be useful for diagnosis .
However , there are so many other causes of such bleeding disorder like tension , anxiety , hormonal imbalance .
In my opinion you should consult a gynaecologist and get his opinion as physical examination is important in such cases.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, this could be due to hormone imbalance, if this is happening since long time then this need to be clinically examined and may need some investigation and this is really matter of concern, in my opinion you really need to see the gynecologist, hope this information helps, have a nice day.
