Suggest Treatment For Intense Right-sided Scapula And Arms Caused By An Injury

HI, I fell about 2 weeks ago and caught my spine or right scapula on a door handle as I fell. I had pain at the time, but thought I had bruised the area. To weeks later I have increasing pain that begins around the interior base of the scapula and radiates up to almost under my arm. It is very pain full and does not seem to be influenced by activity or rest. It s a sharp, stabbing pain that takes my breath away. It s in the area under the bone. Possible fx? I have osteoporosis and severe arthritis with MS and a connective tissue disorder. I ve had 7 major surgeries and this hurts as bad as some o0f them. Any ideas what I ve done?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a minor contusion. Fracture is unlikely.

You can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Diclofenac for pain relief.

If pain persists, better to consult an orthopedician and get an MRI scan done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
