Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I currently take methadone 10mg x2. But can t sleep more than 45min to 1hr. at a time. Will taking Advil pm help me sleep? or can you suggest any thing else that might help me. I need at least 5 hrs of sleep. Thank you for your time. Michael
I understand very well your concerns you are describing in your query. Insomnia in your case is due to the medication you take, Methadone. It is one of the side effects of this drug.
If you have to take methadone in any circumstance you had better talk with the doctor who has prescribed you that, and change or adjust the therapy. If the drug may be changed with something else you may change it, but always according to the doctor prescription.
For now you may use Zolpidem half a tablet before bedtime to help you sleep, but it is used for a short period of time. Do not use it regularly always. If you found this answer helpful, please kindly click at " I Find this answer helpful", and write a review about this experience.
