Suggest Treatment For Influenza In An Elderly Person

MY 87 YEAR OLD MOTHER IS IN THE HOSPITAL WITH PNEUMONIA AND WAS JUST TESTED POSITIVE WITH INFLUENZA A. THE dr. told her everyone in our household should be on tamiflu immediately. QUESTION; since I HAVE VERY POOR TO NO COVERAGE,IS THIS SERIOUS ENOUGH TO START GOING BANANAS AND TRY TO ACCOMPLISH THE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TASK OF GETTING SOME MEDICINE OR IS RIDING IT OUT WITH CLEAN HANDS AND GOOD FOOD A REASONABLE OPTION !

Hi,

It is possible that good hygiene techniques that those that you mentioned may be enough to prevent the infection from spreading.

It would be spread with contact with the droplets from her coughing or sneezing or nasal discharge.

If your immune system is stronger, it also means that any infection that occurs may not have a severe course with you.

You should speak to your doctor about your concerns.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
