Suggest Treatment For Hives

Eight days ago I received a severe reaction, possibly from a new medication, Allopuranal (1 x 300mg.) The reaction was a massive breakout of hives. I stopped taking the medication immediately, but the problem with the hives has gotten worse, not better. I am also taking clopidigrel 75mg x1 as a blood thinner for heart stents. What can I do to rid myself of these hives. I have never had hives before.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
It is good thing that you have done to discontinue the drug, which could have caused allergic reaction and presented in the form of hives.
It may be present for some more time till the drug is metabolised completely and moves out of the body.
You can take anti-histamine tablet or anti-allergic tablet like chlorpheniramine maleate to overcome hives till then.
Drink good quantity of water which would help you to flush out metabolised drug from the body and reduce your symptoms.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
