Suggest Treatment For Hip Joint Pain And Calf Pain
I am 62 years old and have pain in my hip joints and my calfs when walking any distance. I have been very inactive for several months and am trying to start an exercise regimen again I.E walking and yoga. I have a treadmill and I will walk at work. I am diabetic and have had heart surgery, though I did not have a heart attack. I believe the pain is from inactivity and the fact that my hamstrings are tight. Could it possibly be something else?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hip joint pain and calf pain . The symptoms you mention can cause by disc problem . Well disk herniation is most often the result of a gradual, aging-related wear and tear called disk degeneration. Twisting and turning while lifting is also one of the major reason for this problem . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan ,MRI , myelogram , nerve conduction test along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe percocet , gabapentin , muscle relaxant along with cortisone injection . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy , which will help alot and surgery in some severe cases.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
