Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Blood In Urine

Hi, just need an opinion. My daughter had a high fever a few weeks ago and they found micro blood in her urine. Sent it out for tests and everything was normal. I brought her back to the doctor yesterday for another fever and they tested her urine and found micro blood in her urine again. Sent it out for tests and everything came back normal. I asked the nurse if they will check again at another date and she said probably not. Is it normal for her to keep having blood in her urine?

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
I have read and understood your concern
Blood in urine may be caused by many medical conditions. Some possible causes may include:
-Urinary tract infection
-Kidney infections
-A bladder or kidney stone
-Medications
-Strenuous exercise
There are just many possible causes.
I wish to know the tests that were done.A urinalysis is the test of choice to check for urinary tract infections which are the most common causes. Also, blood in urine with fever point more to an infection. I will advise you get a urinalysis done if not yet done. Also, an abdominal/kidney ultrasound will be very useful given the recurrent nature of her symptoms.I will advise you try the following:
*She should take enough water
*Take an anti-pyretic like paracetamol if fever
If any germ identified in urinalysis tests, antibiotics may be prescribed.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns
Best regards
