Suggest Treatment For High Creatinine Levels And Jaundice While On Dialysis
Hi , my grandmother is a kidney patient , she had single kidney by birth, she is going through dialysis from last six months as creatnine level increased to 8.2. Dialysis was done after every 15 days . But now she also get infected by jaundice. Bilirubin level is 9.1. She is in serious condition from last 2 days. Dialysis helps only in reduction of creatnine level but jaundice is right now affecting more. Any suggestions ?? What shall we do ?

Dialysis will only help in improvement of kidney functioning and thus creatinine level will decrease. However, it doesn't have any effect on the treatment of jaundice.
Jaundice is a symptom suggestive of liver disease. It needs to be ascertained what could be the cause for increased bilirubin level and treated accordingly.
It needs to be investigated whether it is due to an infection or due to some other cause leading to liver dysfunction.
Once the specific treatment is initiated after knowing the underlying cause, jaundice should come down and liver functioning should be back to normal. Kindly follow the instructions given by your doctor.
