Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure.
Recently I have had high blood pressure(. 190/ 86 ) when going to the doctor office! I can bring the pressure down 20 point by just breathing deep! The doctor thought I should try slow dose of Hydrochlorothiazide 12,5 mg After one week on this med I developed a severe pain I one leg where I had a broken ankle years ago! I went back to the doctor office where I was able to speak to the doctor nurse assistance who told me to get off the med! Now it has been a week and the pain went away ! Question: what do you recommend I should do at this point?

It seems that you have developed primary hypertension. Hydrochlorothiazide is an antihypertensive which belongs to thiazide group of diuretic drug.
As you have left taking it, better you start the drug belonging to other group like telmisartan or irbesartan. Otherwise blood pressure will not be under control. Start taking the drug only after consulting your treating physician.
