Suggest Treatment For High BP

During my recent medical clearance for re implanting my left knee after an infection my blood pressure reading was up. I don t have high blood pressure but now seem to have it due to what s going on the last 5 months. What is an acceptable blood pressure reading to get cleared for surgery?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern. If you have had high blood pressure the last 5 months due to your other health problems, you need to start treatment for the high blood pressure.
You must have your blood pressure and other parametres stabilised before the surgery, so I suggest you to consult a cardiologist to perform a physical examination, PA measurement and ECG to choose the right treatment.
You should treat your high blood pressure daily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
