Suggest Treatment For High BP And Headaches

I just received info from an MRI that I have Chronic Microvascular ischemic changes. I was seen by a neurologist because of mild cognitive problems, dizziness and headaches. I am 69 with a history of high blood pressure (controlled by medication), celiac disease (diagnosed 9 years ago after years of medical issues), low white blood count ( leukopenia, neutropenia). My family has a history of dementia and Alzheimer s which is what prompted me to get checked when memory issues started and dizziness. Is there a follow-up plan you would recommend. The doctor I saw gave me the info and said try and lower BP, no other recommendations or follow-up. Thank you for any info and recommendations you can provide.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Microvascular changes are age-related changes developed over years probably as a part long term hypertension. No definite treatment is required for it apart from controlling blood pressure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
