Suggest Treatment For Heartburn And Difficulty In Swallowing Food

For years I have had difficulty swallowing food. I tried to eat softer foods, chew really well, smaller bites, and it seems to be happening more frequently. The food gets lodged in my throat. I feel as though I am choking. Can not drink, to force it down because it won t go down. My boyfriend seems to think I am crazy, but it really happens and hurts so bad. What could cause this? And is it treatable? Also I don t now if it related, but I have heartburn daily. If I take nothing for it I vomit stomach acid

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello,
From your symptoms you seem to have an esophageal dysmotility disorder
I would advise you . TO consult a gastroenterologist . You need a upper GI endoscopy . and If required an esophageal manometry and barium swallow (depending on the endoscopy report)
Hope this helps
Regards
