General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Though both procedures dextro-version as well as ablation are effective methods for treating atrial flutter with success rate more than 90% in both cases. However, the peri-procedural stroke rate as well as long term follow up stroke rate is somewhat less with ablation. Therefore ablation may be thought marginally a superior procedure as compared to cardioversion. CPAP machine is definitely a good option for maintaining your oxygen level to normal and inducing a comfortable sleep during night.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
