For the past 5 years I have suffered terrible illness before my period. I feel completely debilitated every month with the following symptoms:
Headache, weakness, dizzyness, fuzzy head, nausea, breathlessness, chest pain and blurred vision.
I have visited various doctors about this but all seem keen to prescribe antidepressants or tell me I have a bacterial inbalance that I just have to live with (I also have angular cheilitis, Tonsillolith, throat and tongue discomfort and ecema of the right ear).
I have two weeks of normality every month which just isn't enough. I know that I don't have depression. I have tried antidepressants in a desperate attempt to feel well but have reacted badly to them.
I'm fine most of the time and then all of a sudden I feel terrible (always days before my period). It is affecting everything in my life and what bothers me the most is that my doctors haven't even checked to see if there is something more sinister going on.
It has gotten to a point now where I am reluctant to go to my doctors as I feel like a hypochondriac but for the people who know me and see this every month I know i'm not.
