Suggest Treatment For Headache And Acid Reflux

My husband is 76 been working outside in heat all day. Has a headache and feels like he has acid reflux. Had to lay in yard a while before he could make it in house. Laying in bed feels like he could throw up or acid reflux. Blood pressure was good.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, working in heat all day makes him dehydrated and secondary gastritis induced by empty stomach. Let him follow simple measures to get well soon:
- Avoid heat exposure for a couple of days
- He should prefer semi reclining position during rest in bed or chair
- Proton pump inhibitor as omeprazole (20 mg) with sips of water on empty stomach twice a day
- Allow him more liquids intake at frequent intervals
- Control of blood sugar to avoid hypoglycemia. He should consult his doc if condition persists beyond 24 hours of above measures.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
