Suggest Treatment For Head Pain While Treating Chiari Malformation

I have Chiari Malformation, I had a craniocervical decompression in 2006. Currently I have pain in my head it is not a general headache or migraine, it hurts in the front and the base of my scull. At the time of the onset of the head pain my spine started to hurt mostly between my shoulder blades. I have had this for 4 days and nothing is helping.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As you said, nothing is helping means that conventional off the counter measures of pain as ibuprofen or diclofenac must have been consumed without any benefit. In such instance, an immediate visit to an ER is mandatory as there may be an alteration in the underlying cerebrospinal fluid pressure or else responsible for uncontrollable headache with hurting between shoulder blades. Till that time, you can opt a prescription of tramadol hydrochloride from your doc for est relief of headache.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
