My 14 y.o. was given the depo provera shot for dysmenorrha (vomiting, pain down into thighs, fainting) 16 days ago. She has been having bad headaches (migraine type as she describes seeing a light around shapes floating in front of her face), muscle aches/pain, lightheaded, a feeling of being foggy, some random abd. & chest crampiness . I have spoken with our gynecologist to see if there is anything we can do and they said, unfortunately, symptoms are diff. for everyone and that once the shot is given there is nothing that can be done except ride it out for the next 10 wks. hoping the symptoms will subside. She is missing so much school, social time with friends, and just feels really rotten. Is there anything that can be done for her if we go to our local E.R.? Could they give her something for the severe headaches? Would it break the cycle or just be a temporary fix?
