Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hard bone like painless lump to my right of the tailbone. Not visible, appeared suddenly whilst I was ill with a common cold. Noticed it felt inflamed and uncomfortable on the first day whilst laying in the bath, however it hasn t felt like that since and just feels like a hard small bump almost like a bone. What is this? Thanks
Welcome to HCM I have read and understood your query Hope this will help you The painless hard bump you are mentioning is most probably a cyst that is calcified a ganglion or a heamatoma.i would take it as a ganglion as you mentioned it is as hard as a bone.Do you remember any trauma? As it is at tail bone it will be discomforting but i would suggest you to wait for 2 weeks. If it does not go away,it must be drained with a needle then. But if it changes colour or become inflamed, meet a surgeon asap. Regards Dr Faeza
