Suggest Treatment For Hard Lump On Shin Post Injury

Hi and thanks. Just got a goose egg on my shin almost the size of an egg and the impact broke the skin a little. (Crashed into a heavy terra cotta flower pot). My husband says to ice it do I m icing it but I didn t start the ice for about 45 minutes after injury. What more should I do? Should I go into an instacare to have it looked at? I was just going to ignore it but now my husband has me nervous about hematomas

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient you have got contusion and haematoma on shin due to impact by flower pot. It is always better to visit your doctor. Applying only ice packs would reduce swelling.start taking antibiotics as skin is also broken and apply dressing. I would advice taking diclofenac plus serratiopeptodase combination twice a day to reduce swelling and early dispersal of haematoma.
