Suggest Treatment For Hair Loss

I ve had so much hair loss, wads when washing. Even started using shampoo with biotin. Over a month ago I started having a salty taste in mouth; so bad nothing I cooked tasted right. Now, Milk, meat, sandwich, pizza everything tastes slimy. Not a bad taste, just terribly slimy, with really no taste at all. Dentist thought I had sinus infection (no abscess) cuz entire mouth started hurting. 16 days of 98.6 to over a 100* fluctuating temps at times below normal. My temp is usually 97.2 to 98.2. Dentist put me on 500mg Amoxicillin 3xdaily for 7 days. Fever finally stopped today, day 17! I do have liver fibrosis/cirrhosis/NA, biopsy in Feb 2013 and I (of course) am one who suffers with ammonia toxin (from liver) even when it is sometimes low after testing! Seeing liver Dr again middle of this month. But I m terribly concerned. I m not yellow. But these symptoms are so bothersome & worriesome. Been on Xifican since 2013. Dr says I m a very healthy looking chirrotic patient. I m female, 146 lbs. So many other health issues. Feels like my body is slowly dying. Can t tell no one that though. They d want to lock me up for sure. Feels like my feet & below knees has hair growing outta them. My will to keep researching on my own is exhausting and I m losing the strength and even the want to anymore. I have had the unwell feeling for many, many years. However not quite like this, this is different; as stated, I can literally feel my body dying. I do have fibromyalgia too. I did have mono as a young girl. I had bladder sling, osteoarthritis, degenerative bone disease. Can you help figure out or should I just shoot this ole mare cuz she s wasting pasture. jk...I wanna live ;-)))

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Well, effective treatments for some types of hair loss are available. But some hair loss is permanent. If your hair loss is caused by an underlying disease, treatment for that disease will be necessary.

This may include drugs to reduce inflammation and suppress your immune system, such as prednisone. But also, 2 medications are used for treatment and include minoxidil and Finasteride.

If there is no success with these then hair transplant or restoration surgery can make the most of the hair you have left.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
