Suggest Treatment For Hair Loss After Taking Metoprolol Succ ER

I have had very dramatic hair loss in the past year. I have seen online that it could be caused by my blood pressure medicine. I have been taking metoprolol Succ ER 25mg. for about that long or longer. Is there another blood pressure med I could ask my Dr. for without this side effect? This is a devastating side effect for me being a woman.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hair loss is one of the rare side effects of metoprolol so it is possible that it is contributing to your problem.

There are other medications that would not have this effect such as the ACE inhibitors, ARB meds, calcium channel medications.
These are the names of the family of meds not the actual medications.

I hope this helps
