Suggest Treatment For Hair Dye Allergy
I have had an allergic reaction to hair dye. I dyed my hair February 13 and a few days later my head was burning and itching. That has subsided with the washing out the dye but the tops of my ears are seeping a clear liquid and won t stop and my skin is irritated and itching like crazy. I started taking 180mg of allegra and it has helped but it seems to wear off by mid-day. Is there anything I can do for the constant itch and my ears?

Hi. Hair dye allergy is rather common. Apply mid potent steroid like mometasone for couple of days on oozy areas. It would resolve soon. Also, avoid using hair dye. If you are keen on using hair dye, use para-phenylenediamine (PPD) free hair dye. Such PPD free hair dye are not as good as conventional hair dye, but can be used by persons who are allergic to hair dye. Hope it helps
