Suggest Treatment For Grey Bruised Knot On Back Of Ear Lobe

I have a grey bruised knot on the back of my earlobe , under the skin. (Similar to the knot you get when first getting your ears pierced) I haven t had a piercing right where it s at, but my ears are pierced It s been there about a month, gradually has gotten bigger and just recently noticed it s dark in color. It s sore to the touch , or when I lay on it. Do you have any ideas?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having keloid on ear lobe.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream once and a hyaluronic acid preparation like Hexilak once daily on affected skin.
3. Take a vitamin E supplement once daily for 3 months. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
4. Other treatment options are cryotherapy, intralesional steroid injection given only by a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
