Suggest Treatment For Gas Build Up In The Stomach Post A Colonoscopy

After getting a colonoscopy months ago, I still have gas build up I cannot release without releasing a discharge of fuzzy sand looking stuff. Doesn t really discolor toilet water. I will also on occasion get small round formed stools. Every couple to a few days, I will get a larger normal formed stool. But always a wet fluid and usually fuzzy brown sand or sometimes white fuzzy sand. Have to release wet gas many times a day.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
This is a bit atypical problem that you have started only after colonoscopy months ago.
The appearance of fuzzy sand looking stuff and occasionally small round stools, and passage of these while passing gases can be due to the following reasons:
The preparation for colonoscopy causes the normal bacterial flora disturbance. May be a course of an antibiotic and metronidazole if given for some cause can also cause similar problems.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation.
Get the stool tested for a few days.
Take a course of pre and probiotics.
Take Yogurt, curds, bananas, activated charcoal to stabilize the normal bacterial flora of intestines.
If the stool shows an infection get a 5 day course of an antibiotic and Metronidazole.
Repeat stool after this management and see the difference.
Also you can take pancreatic enzymes along with food.
Other relevant tests of blood, ultrasonography may help further in identifying the proper causative agents.
Avoid all the foods and beverages that increase your problems.
Avoid stress and anxiety.
All these points will help to get you the proper diagnosis and management.'
