Suggest Treatment For Food Poisoning And Diarrhea

Good afternoon doctor. I ate fried mushrooms about 3 days ago and I make it like I normally do but I have had diarrhea which I believe is from it since then. It s my favorite food and I always make it but this time it feels different in my body. I have pains below my rib cage right above the belly botton that come and go. I haven t thrown up but sometimes I feel very hot and I feel like I am going to throw up or faint. Sometimes the pain is a 7 on a 10 scale but I don t want to go to the hospital unless I m crying in pain. I am a 19 year old white female. What should I do? Sarlota

Hello. Mushrooms are a very good food, but some kinds of them are very poissonous too so I hope you haven't tried on a new one this time. As for the "home therapy" I'd suggest first the oral rehydration therapy (there are various oral rehydration sachets that can be bought over the counter) and some antispastics such as Buscopan i.e. and don't forget to take your temperature and in case it' over 38 Celsius degrees then use Paracetamol as an antipiretic.
