Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 11yr old has been running fever for 5 days now took him to the doctor Friday and since he had a little raw spot were his underwear rubbed the doc said he had jock itch and that's what's causing the fever gave him Antibiotic's 3 days ago but still have fever
It is uncommon for jocky itch to cause fever unless there is another infection that has taken advantage of the broken skin at this area. Fever in children is best managed by administering Tylenol at a dose of 15mg every 6hours. For example, if a child weighs 20kg, you should administer about 300mg every 6hours. Should this fever persist, talk to his doctor for the treatment to be evaluated. It may not be working very well.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information if needed.
