I have been running a low grade fever (99.4-100.8) since August. I went to the doctor with chest, neck and shoulder pains, and pain under my left breast, shortness of breath and extreme fatigue. All heart tests came back normal. A chest xray and neck MRI came back normal. My GP has ran three blood tests and diagnosed me with anemia (My WBC and Absolute Neutrophils were abnormally high and RDW low) - 6 other cell counts were either high or low. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy yesterday to try to find the source of the anemia. Thankfully, no bleeding was found. However, a biopsy was taken to test me for celiac disease. My entire body hurts (fever?), I still have fever and the laundry list of symptoms, and no diagnosis. I am to see the Hematalogist on Monday. My father had CML and Cholangiocarcinoma. Any ideas? I am tired of going to doctor after doctor. Should I just be admitted to the hospital for complete testing? I am 48, have been in great health all of my life (I was an ultrarunner just a year ago, running a 100 mile race). Please help. This is affecting every aspect of my life.
