Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough And Allergy

I ve been treated for upper respotory due to dry cough and allergy problems, Seems like just want go away, I still have a hacking cough. I took mucinex last night and my cough still is there.. My chest upper is burning slightly,. I could not stop coughing so I have an inhaler here and tried that. Coughing stopped cause am sitting in my recliner. Feel better but am concerned.

Hello welcome to the health care magic

Here two possibility should be ruled out respiratory tract infection and acid reflux...

For respiratory causes work up done as follow...
_Auscultation
_CBC
_chest x ray
_spirometry only if needed

According to cause further specific treatment given

For dry cough antihistaminic drug prescribed

If CBC shows eosinophila than loratidine prescribed

For acid reflux (suspecting because burning chest pain present) rabeprazole 20 mg OD can be prescribed
