Suggest Treatment For Dry, Chesty Cough Of A 18 Week Baby

My 18 week old son has recently developed a dry chesty cough and sounds croaky when he babbles. Is this something I should be worried about or just a case of a simple cough/cold? It doesn t seem to bother him other than his grizzly behaviour, but it does sound like it should be hurting. Is there anything I can do to help relieve these symptoms?

Hi..can you elaborate the symptoms further? I mean is there increased abdominal movements or chest in drawing? Does the child have fever? Is there irritability or lethargy or decreased breast feeding? If everything is fine then this can be simple coryza. I would advise you to watch for the danger signs which are mentioned above. Also you should visit a pediatrician and get the child examined to rule out any significant chest findings. In the meantime continue with breast feeding so that the hydration is maintained. Thanks.
