Suggest Treatment For Discomfort In Chest After Swallowing Food The Wrong Way

Hi, a few days ago whilst eating, I swallowed some food that went down the wrong way, coughing fit as a result. Since then I have some discomfort on the right side of my chest and when laying down slight breathing alterations. I sometimes have pain within my right side of my chest as well as in my back. Will this alleviate and disappear by itself or does it need to be checked out. Normally fit and healthy.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
This could be due to aspiration pneumonitis. The food particles must have entered your lungs.
I recommend the following.
1) A check x ray of x ray chest to rule out pnemonitis.
2) A course of antibiotics.
3) An expectorant cough syrup.
4) Consult your GP for evaluation.
You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
Regards,
