Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday when i was eating orange, a seed stuck in my throat... i drank plenty of water ate bread... but i still feel it in my throat... I can breathe easily eat easily... no difficulty in eating or drinking but i still feel that something is stuck and it is irritating me... its been 24 hours and now i am getting worried... What should i do?
Feeling of something struck in throat even after drinking enough water could be due to mucosal injury which causes raw wound in food pipe. It takes about 3 days to overcome such symptoms.
However, in the meantime, take multivitamin capsules once a day and medicated lozanges.
If the symptoms continues to persist even after 2 days, you may need an upper GI endoscopy. You need to consult Surgeon for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
