Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had severe diarrhea for over a month. Nothing seems to set it off. I can eat nothing and I still have the problem. When I do eat I barely make it to the restroom. It s making me nauseous. I just recently moved and don t have health insurance so I have put off going to see a doctor.
I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.
I think that diarrhea is caused by a microbe. Firstly you need to get rehydrated. To do that you can take ORS(Oral rehydration solution). You should also drink a lot of fluids. Avoid spicy and acidic foods, coffee and milk.
In the most common cases microbial diarrhea is treated by antibiotic. To find what antibiotic you need, an antibiogram is necessary.
Ask me for anything unclear.
All the best. Dr. Behar.
