Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea, Abdominal Cramps And Numbness In The Feet

Hi I ve been having diarrhea on and off for two days with associated abdominal cramping, decreased appetite, tingling and numbness in my feet (loss of circulation in feet as well as cold feet), dizziness and very mild fever. I have an appointment to see my doctor in 5 days. Should I wait it out or seek more immediate care, thank you.

Hello,

Diarrhoea may cause a massive loss of fluid and salts from the body. It will lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. So, you may feel numbness or weakness.

When I get patients with diarrhoea, I ask them about the frequency and amount of loose stool, duration, any bleeding, fever etc.

All diarrhoea patients need oral rehydration saline to compensate fluid and electrolyte loss. Depending on the cause and severity, other drugs and antibiotics may be required.

I suggest you to take adequate ORS/fluid and visit doctor as soon as possible.
