Hi,
Stilnox (
Zolpidem) is very frequently used for problem of sleep disturbances (
Insomnia). But still, its use in
pregnancy, is to be used, very carefully and strictly under guidance of your doctor. Though, about 75% of the women, suffer from some sort of insomnia during pregnancy, still, it should be noted that this drug is only to be used for a short period only at the maximum for 2-6 weeks.
Also, in some cases, this drug itself can cause symptoms of
depression, abnormal activities during sleep, like sleep walk etc. Also, its use in the late pregnancy may cause respiratory depression in the neonate. More over, without proper treatment, your symptoms of depression including suicidal ideas, may also be aggravated.
Due to all these reasons, it is always advised, that you should take your treatment for depression under guidance of your doctor and he / she will be the best judge, to decide the indication of Stilnox for you during pregnancy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
